Marquee Wedding – A Blackberry and Apple themed September Wedding with Sabina and Tristan.

Colourful Blackberry and Apple Marquee Wedding in Wiltshire.

Sabina and Tristan had their blackberry and apple themed marquee wedding reception at home with the stunning Wiltshire countryside as a backdrop.  It was the most fabulous wedding day in September last year.   The weather was perfect with a gentle breeze and the sun shining.

“What a lovely wedding you helped us put together, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. You helped us deliver a dream wedding. We could not have done it without you. We have no words to express my gratitude apart from – Thank you!”  – Sabina & Tristian.

Sabina got ready at home in the morning with her family before heading off to the church with her father in an immaculate beautiful Beauford wedding car. Guests had travelled from far and wide, so a vintage bus was laid on to collect from outside their hotel to travel to the church and reception. The bus was a super ice breaker and helped guests to get to know each other even before the marquee wedding.

Marquee Wedding Reception.

After the ceremony Sabina and Tristan with their guests returned to a drinks and canape reception serving pressed apple juice from their own home-grown apples.  Garden games were played, and time was taken to enjoy the stunning gardens and countryside.

As the sun began to go down guest were invited to make their way into marquee. The marquee was an elegant traditional canvas marquee with gothic windows, central poles and a dramatic sloping roof.

Marquee Wedding Decoration.

The marquee was decorated with seasonal flowers in an elegant and pretty country style.  The colours were based on the autumnal colours of the blackberry hedgerows and apples in the orchards. The central poles were decorated with swags of greenery interspersed with pops of colours. The tables were round with central hurricane lamps surrounded with a mass of stunning flowers and greenery. The tables surrounded a central black and white checker dance floor.

Menus and name place cards were handwritten and decorated with blackberry illustrations and tied with silk dyed ribbon.

Marquee Wedding Personalisation.

Sabina and Tristan were very keen to personalise their marquee wedding to reflect their personalities and interests.  As avid readers Sabina and Tristan choose their favourite books and used these as their table names and placed a copy of each book on the relevant tables. The guests thoroughly enjoyed this personal detail and it certainly gave the guests some insight into the couple as well some often-highbrow discussions!

Sabina and Tristian were keen to give their guests a small gift as a token of their appreciation of joining them for their special day.  They wanted their guests to remember them in a different way. Each guest received a copy of their most beloved of the mini Penguin Little Black Classics series; It Was Snowing Butterflies by Charles Darwin.

Marquee Wedding Family Style.

Sabina and Tristian were very aware that many guests had travelled a long way and did not necessarily know each other well.  To ensure all the guest felt included and part of the family, Sabina and Tristan had the dinner served “family style” . A large board of roasted butterflied haunch of venison served with whiskey apples and blackberry jelly was place at the tables.  One guest on each table was chosen to “carve” and given a chef’s hat and apron to fulfil the role to the max!

After serving a very pretty dessert of blackberry fool with fresh blackberries and lavender shortbreads, the couple gathered everyone around the wedding cake for speeches and the cutting of the cake. The speeches were funny, emotional and heartfelt with happy stories being shared.

The three tied traditional wedding cake decorated with intricate flowers and berries was cut. It was soon time for the first dance. A live band accompanied Sabina and Tristan with their first dance before family and friends joined them on the dance-floor to dance the night away and enjoy the happy relaxed family vibe.
